Product Description The Victron Energy Orion XS 12/12-50A (700W) Non-Isolated DC-DC Battery to Battery Charger is engineered for demanding mobile power systems where a strong, controlled charge from an alternator to the house or auxiliary battery is needed. It’s ideal for campervans, motorhomes, boats and other vehicle-based electrical systems with dual battery setups. Modern alternators, especially smart alternators, often vary their output voltage and can deliver too low a charge voltage for effective battery charging. The Orion XS overcomes this by regulating the alternator’s raw output into a controlled and optimised charge designed to help extend battery life. Its adaptive four-stage charging algorithm protects battery health by managing bulk, absorption, float and storage stages intelligently. Designed for systems with a common negative earth, this non-isolated unit is compact and efficient.
